Tamer Ciray was born in Cologne, Germany where he began to take private piano, organ and harmony lessons at the age of 10. He attended the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts from which he graduated as a Performing Artist.

He holds Diplomas for Double Bass under the instruction of Prof. Melih Balcik and for Conducting Techniques under the instruction of Prof. Roman Skrépek. He gave Recitals in selected concert halls, worked with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet and taught at the Istanbul Academy of Communication and Arts.

Tamer worked as an arranger and music director for many important stars which jointly sold over 2 million copies and is the composer and songwriter for the big-budget all-star musical “Mucizeler Komedisi (Comedy of Miracles)”. He also created interactive music and sound design for many theater plays.

He composed and orchestrated the music for the Jeremy Irons narrated, docu-drama “The Hittites” by Tolga Ornek, which was performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. For the post-production of the project, he went to Hollywood and worked at Warner Bros Studios.

In total he scored the music for 31 films, including many award-winning films like “Can” (awarded “World Dramatic Special Jury Prize for Artistic Vision” at the Sundance Film Festival) and “Lovelorn” (awarded “Best Feature” at the New York Queens Film Festival) and for more than 17 prime time TV Series (which totals over 650 Episodes of at least 1 hour length each).

Since many years Tamer is the composer of choice for scoring the soundtracks for Turkey’s highest budgeted films. Many of his soundtrack albums became top-ten bestsellers.

Tamer received many awards including three wins of the most prestigious International Antalya Golden Orange Award and countless nominations.

He has acted as a jury member at the 2014 Golden Boll Film Festival, one of Turkeys most important International Festivals.

Many of his projects, including 285 TV episodes, are currently available on Netflix.

He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, USA.
